The leaves of most species are poisonous to cattle and humans! Flowers may be boiled or eaten raw in moderation. The buds, young shoots and young leaves may be eaten as greens after boiling in 2 waters. The seeds and inner wall of the pod may be eaten raw or cooked, and a sugar can be boiled down from the flowers.
